History & Vision

LACES HISTORY & VISION

Laces Baseball Academy has been a fixture in the Pacific NW since 2005. Now in year 18 Laces has sustained success for almost 2 decades. Laces has seen several programs come and go throughout its time and takes pride in the long-lasting History the Academy has created. Laces Baseball Academy Teams have won multiple Tournament and League Championships, but more importantly we have positively impacted the lives of hundreds of young men and women through the beautiful games of Baseball and Softball!

Laces Baseball Academy has recently shifted gears and will start focusing on the Youth age players in the Greater Snohomish County Area, as well as continuing to develop our Fastpitch Softball program. Laces looks to help the games of Baseball and Softball by developing Youth players at their most influential years. Select ball is a great way to help develop your son or daughter as both athletes, and as young men and women, assuming the culture and intent are right! Laces new focus will be to prepare our players for the future. Laces Coaching Staff has seen a significant change over the years with the focus moving from Player Development to Tournament Championships. Here at Laces we want to earn wins through the development of our players. Wins are important to us, unless it takes precedence over Player Development! Our ultimate goal is to offer our player the best opportunity for long term success. We want our players to be successful for the long run while finding their true passion for the game!

LACES SELECT TEAMS

Laces Select

All Laces teams are coached and trained by quality instructors with college level play or coaching experience, years of select coaching, and/or pro ball experience! We believe the game of softball can teach young women important life lessons. Our coaches are dedicated to not only developing ball skills, but character and work ethic as well. Our staff expect respect for self, team, and others at all times.

WHY PLAY FOR LACES?

* Paid coaches with high level of experience (college, pro, years of select or school coaching).

*College Placement - We have connections throughout the country and work hard to help provide our athletes with opportunities to pursue their goals at the next level.

*MLB Scouts - We have 3 MLB Scouts that work with us as camp and clinic coaches etc, providing a top-notch level of evaluation, training, and exposure.

*Year-round training environment - We take some time off to rest at the end of the season and over the holidays, but we utilize indoor facilities when weather requires, so we can stay on our game.

*Over 15 Years of tradition and successfully seeing kids' goals realized

*Family Environment - We take seriously the responsibility we have in influencing young men in the habits and character they develop, and we are honored to come alongside families in our community.

What Does a typical year with Laces look like?

Nov - Winter Training/Team Practices

Dec - Winter Training/Team Practices

Jan - Winter Training/Team Practices

Feb - Winter Training/Team Practices

Mar - Games/Practices/Tournaments

April - Games/Practices/Tournaments

May - Games/Practices/Tournaments

June - Games/Practices/Tournaments

July - Games/Practices/Tournaments

Rest is a crucial aspect for youth development, and we also place high value on the importance of family time, and the prioritizing of both. After the peak of Tournament season wraps up around July each year, we slow to a resting pace for a few months as school starts back up and over the holidays. In that time, we may still have an occasional scrimmage or some optional practices, as well as camps or clinics.

Laces Management

Laces Baseball Academy was started by Levi Lacey in 2005, and after a few years of having to step back from management in order to focus on his position as a full time MLB Scout for the Texas Rangers, Levi is now able to pour back into managing laces, while still working with the Rangers is their Four Corners Scout. Along with this shift of management and Levi being more hands-on again, we also have an amazing team of coaching staff, our managment team, and our Board of Directors, that are all excited to be a part of what Laces brings to our community.

Management

“Playing for Levi Lacey and the Laces Baseball Academy taught me how to compete, play the game hard and the importance of being a part of a brotherhood. We also had incredibly engaged and knowledgable coaches and Levi’s passion and leadership is unparalleled. Playing for Laces taught me the value of honest feedback, hard work, and how important it is to compete every single pitch.”
